Carolyn O’Hara is Senior Director of Content Discovery at Pocket, Mozilla's content discovery app, where she is responsible for editorial and curation strategy and publisher partnerships across Mozilla products, including content recommendations for 40 million+ users in the Firefox browser and across the Pocket platform. Prior to joining Pocket, she was Managing Editor of The Week magazine, a Reporter and Producer at the PBS NewsHour, and Senior Editor at Foreign Policy magazine. Carolyn first joined Pocket in 2018 to create world-class content recommendation experiences rooted in Mozilla’s values of privacy, trust, and building a healthier web. Over the past five years, Carolyn has built an editorial and curation team that powers high-quality and compelling recommendations for tens of millions of Firefox and Pocket users in 7 international markets. She also launched Pocket’s content licensing business with dozens of top-tier publishers, and oversees an award-winning annual Best Of series that celebrates the best content on the web each year. Carolyn currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
