Benét J. Wilson is director of the Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism Fellowship, a year-long program designed to train early-career journalists. She was previously a senior editor and a travel/aviation writer for The Points Guy. She serves on the board of Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism and has served on the Online News Association and the National Association of Black Journalists boards. She is a strong advocate for media diversity, mentoring and career navigation. She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in broadcast journalism.
