Alicia Zuckerman (she/her) has loved audio since she was a kid listening to comedy albums and call-in radio advice shows she probably shouldn’t have been listening to. She is a story editor, coach and project manager who develops and edits narrative and explanatory audio journalism. She was a 2022-23 John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, exploring ways to make podcasts accessible for people who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing. Before that, she was Editorial Director/Executive Editor for On-Demand Audio at WLRN in Miami, winner of the 2021 national Edward R. Murrow Award for overall excellence in large market radio. Previously, she was an arts & culture reporter at WNYC and New York magazine, and a USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism fellow. Her awards include Third Coast, national Murrows, SPJ Sigma Delta Chi, NABJ, NAHJ, and she’s been honored as the SPJ Florida chapter’s Editor of the Year. Zuckerman was in the first cohort of AIR’s New Voices and is currently on the advisory board. She has served as an Edit Mode mentor and is a former Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA) board president. (She is not related to the Facebook guy. That’s a different name. She gets that question constantly.)
