Cary Betagole is a South Philadelphia resident in his fourth year as a product manager at the Philadelphia Inquirer. At the Inquirer, he has worked on products for engaging users during live events, including a live blog and a second-screen experience for following live sports, as well as service journalism products that use evergreen content.
He got his first job in news product management at Technically Media, which publishes local news on startup and nonprofit communities. At TM, he started out doing data analysis, user research and user engagement before turning his primary focus to the development of new digital products for driving revenue, including an employer branding platform called Technically Talent.
He studied journalism in college and served as a sports reporter and editor at The Daily Free Press, the independent student newspaper at Boston University.
