In the fall of 2022, Sarah Gamard was a lead author of "University-Led Statehouse Student Reporting Programs," a report conducted by the University of Vermont's Center for Community News. She is currently the Communications Manager for The Signals Network, an end-to-end whistleblower support organization that works with journalists and operates internationally to hold the world's most powerful institutions accountable. She spent several years as a watchdog political journalist across three states, including covering the Louisiana and Delaware statehouses. In 2022, she took a career hiatus to complete a seven-month thru-hike of the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. She is a New Orleans native and graduate of Louisiana State University's Manship School of Mass Communication. She now lives in Philadelphia.
