Tom's biomedical informatics (BS/MS Stanford) background gives him insights into tackling hearing loss through technology. He's approached the problem through numerous angles, including basic research, clinical trials and founding Stanford's first club for the deaf/Hard of hearing. At his latest venture TranscribeGlass, the world's first all-day wearable captioning solution for the deaf/hearing impaired, Tom is working to make affordable, effective communication for himself (and 466M others with disabling hearing loss) a reality. TranscribeGlass recently launched a viral marketing campaign, with 40M+ views across TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn and a feature on the front page of Reddit! They are about to raise their first round to scale manufacturing and service a 5000+ customer waitlist. In his free time, Tom enjoys running and exploring the SF food scene with friends.
