Covering the Military and Veterans Thru Microbroadcasting

How to reach out to military members, cadets and veterans during Covid 19 thru Micromedia

Covering the military and veterans can be challenging even more so during Covid19. Sons of the American Legion Radio based in White Plains has told the story of those who serve in the military by relationship building with veterans associations, attending military events such as NY City Fleet Week, covering Dept of Veterans Affairs events, reporting from military academies sporting events, streaming live events,, working with National Guard units and interviewing authors. Can be done by building distribution on social media such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as partnering with traditional media such as local radio.
The pandemic resulted in shift to doing interviews via video streaming which resulting in some cases more access and more independent discussions. Our target audiences are veterans, military families and interested members of the public. We generate about 2 million page views annually on a budget we rais thru sponsorships.
